In cooperation with Guus Boudestein of Ontwerpwerk, Anno Fekkes of VIDE is giving body to activities aimed at promoting the innovative qualities of the craft sector in Surinam.
These in turn are the result of a partnership agreement between the municipality of The Hague and the Ministry of Trade and Industry in Surinam.
The agreement was signed in August 2008 during an economic trade mission to Surinam under the leadership of Alderman Henk Kool.
In December 2008, Guus Boudestein and Anno Fekkes visited Surinam again during the annual Craft Market in Paramaribo to give five workshops and make further agreements on initiatives to be undertaken in 2009.
